For those unaware, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have sued YouTube for content related to their daughter. YouTube videos claimed Aaradhya was critically ill. The Bachchans are suing these YouTubers because their videos defame Amitabh Bachchan's granddaughter.

Today, Anand and Naik Associates lawyers Ameet Naik, Dayan Krishnan, and Pravin Anand represented the matter in the Delhi High Court. The lawyers now want an injunction to stop such films.

Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan have sued many YouTube channels in the Delhi High Court to stop them from spreading misleading news about her death or serious illness. The Aaradhya Bachchan case is based on defamation, privacy, and personality rights.

Ameet Naik shared, "We need to protect the dignity and respect of a celebrity child or otherwise. Everyone has a right to privacy, to not be defamed, so the action is on three counts – to protect privacy, not allow defamation, and to protect the personality rights. We sought an injunction for this and we asked for a takedown notice. Out of the 26 videos, 9 remain while some are taken out. But the fact of the matter is that it was such glaring, fake, and defamatory news that we had no choice but come to court."

Ameet further added, “Nobody’s private life is for public display, you can’t profit by making fake news of it."

Ameet even shared that the next hearing for the matter will take place in July. He further stated that a zero-tolerance policy must be adopted and that there has to be some care and diligence.
