Nagraj Manjule collaborated with Amitabh Bachchan for his upcoming project Jhund. The makers held a private screening of the film ahead of its release. PK actor, Aamir Khan was invited to the screening, and he was moved to tears by the film's stunning artistry! It's not easy to impress this brilliant filmmaker's mind, yet not only did the strong film inspire the actor, but he also expressed great admiration for Team Jhund for putting together such an incredible story.
In a video posted on T-Series' YouTube site, the actor gushed about the film, calling it "special." Aamir remarked in an interview with Jhund director Nagraj Popatrao Manjule and producer Bhushan Kumar that the film "breaks everything we've learned in the last 20-30 years." Aamir also referred to Jhund as "one of Amitabh Bachchan's greatest films." He praised the children who worked on the movie.
"It's a fantastic film,It's unbelievable. It's very unique; I don't know how it got made," says Aamir Khan in the video.
"I got up with a spirit and this film won't leave me, I don't have words because it is a very surprising film. It breaks everything we've learnt in 20-30 years being in the industry," he added.
As he offered a standing ovation, he was spotted wiping tears away with the sleeves of his T-shirt. "It has happened for the first time that a film has received a standing ovation during a private screening. I don't have words to say. The way you have captured the emotions of girls and boys of India, it's unbelievable. The way the children have worked is unbelievable," said the 56-year old actor.
Nagraj Manjule is known for blockbusters like Sairat (2016) and Fandry (2013). His next project Jhund will be releasing in theatres on March 4, 2022. Under the banners of T-Series, Tandav Films Entertainment, and Aatpat, Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Savita Raj Hiremath, Raaj Hiremath, Gargee Kulkarni, Meenu Aroraa, and Sandeep Singh are producing the film. It's an international release from Zee Studios.
