Popularly known as the ‘Perfectionist of Bollywood,’ Aamir Khan is celebrating his 57th birthday today, i.e, 14th March, 2022. After being absent from the big screen for quite some time, he is all set to return with Laal Singh Chaddha. The film was scheduled to hit theatres in December 2020. However, due to the pandemic, the film was postponed and will now be released on Independence Day, 2022.

Meanwhile, in July 2021, Aamir Khan made headlines when he announced his divorce from Kiran Rao. It sparked a lot of debate, and the actor remained deafeningly silent about it.

The Rang De Basanti (2006) actor has finally addressed the rumours surrounding his divorce from ex-wife Kiran Rao. The actor explained to a renowned news source that he and Kiran had not separated due to his suspected involvement with someone else. He said, “Kiran ji and I love each other. We have a lot of respect and fondness for each other. And I understand that people don’t understand our equation. It’s difficult for people to understand. This is because, usually, we don’t see a bond like this (among couples who separate).”

In an interview with News18, Aamir emphasised that his divorce with his first wife, Reena Dutta, was not brought on by Kiran. When he divorced Reena, the superstar declared that he had no one in his life. He further mentioned that despite knowing Kiran, they only became friends decades later.

After 15 years together, Aamir and Kiran split up last year. Soon after they made the news on social media, rumours began to circulate that Aamir was seeing someone else. When questioned if his divorce with Kiran was owing to a new relationship, the actor flatly denied the idea, saying, “No. There was no one back then, there is no one now."
