The Kerala Story's destiny is now also shared by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan's film 72 Hoorain, which he also co-produced with Ashoke Pandit. The film's depiction of terrorism and religious goals has come under scrutiny from critics.

Before the movie's theatrical debut, co-producer Ashoke Pandit stated that 72 Hoorain was not a film supporting terrorism as its detractors had claimed. He continued by mentioning how some individuals have used religion as an excuse to criticize a movie when it deviates from a predetermined "narrative."

Ashoke Pandit stressed in an interview how it is problematic for a movie when the plot diverges from the one that has already been established. "For so many years, we have been hearing that a narrative has been set by so-called intellectualists, secularists, and opinion makers of the nation where anything when you talk differently, anything which is not in line with their narrative, they will target such films towards religion," he stated. They make religion the focus of the entire film's gravity in order to make everything seem silly.

Ashoke Pandit claimed that the goal of producing a movie like 72 Hoorain was to combat terrorism. The filmmaker and actor Pawan Malhotra, according to the producer, intended to show the negative impacts of terrorism in the movie. However, their intentions were misconstrued.

It is stated that terrorism is a disease that spreads throughout the entire human race. Sanjay has therefore revealed terrorism and the impact of terrorism on how the youngsters have been misled and taught lies about where to locate Jannat ad Hoorain (angels) when you carry out an explosion, murder people, cause havoc, or commit a massacre. How does religion get in the way when we claim to be fighting against terrorism and creating a film about it? Ashoke Pandit was curious.”

The plot of 72 ‘Hoorain’ centres on how terrorist organisations manipulate children into becoming terrorists by offering them access to the Hoorain, a celestial realm populated by 72 Virgins. The movie ‘72 Hoorain’ is slated to premiere on July 7.
