In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the iconic film 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,' Dharma Productions held a special screening of the film on October 15, 2023. Tickets for the screening were priced at just Rs. 25, and both shows sold out in less than 25 minutes.

An exhibition source informed that the low price point and the film's timeless charm likely played a role in the high demand for tickets. Many moviegoers were too young or were not even born when the film was released in 1998, and they may have been eager to see it on the big screen for the first time. Additionally, the film's star-studded cast, including Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Rani Mukerji, and its association with director Karan Johar may have also contributed to the high demand.
As per another source, one more show of 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' will be added in the same theatre, PVR Icon Versova. It remains to be seen if more shows will be added in other theaters across India.
'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' was Karan Johar's directorial debut. The film tells the story of a widower whose life changes when his daughter tries to reunite him with his college friend, at the behest of her dead mother.
