Heropanti 2 Movie Review Rating: 3/5

Last seen in Baaghi 3 (2020), Tiger Shroff explodes onto the screen yet again with his latest film Heropanti 2. As the title aptly suggests, the actioner is a sequel to the 2014 film Heropanti which launched him in Bollywood. The sequel also features Tara Sutaria and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead roles. So, in case you want to know whether or not Heropanti 2 deserves your watch, here is what our reviewer has to say about the film. Read on…

STORY: Babloo Ranawat (Tiger Shroff) is a genius hacker that nobody can hold a candle to. Laila (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), a magician, psycho killer and digital fraudster who is planning to loot all of India at once, tasks Babloo to develop video games that will help him scam people, hack their private data, including bank details. While doing all of this for Laila, Babloo falls in love with his sister Inaaya (Tara Sutaria). What happens when Inaaya comes to learn about the evil intentions of his lover and brother?

HIGHS: If a certain film has Tiger Shroff’s name attached to it, you already know it will have loads of jaw-dropping action sequences and beautifully choreographed song and dance numbers. Heropanti 2 is no different. Apart from oodles of action and romance, you also get to see revenge and a tad bit of social messaging.

Talking about performance, Shroff excels in action scenes. His chemistry with Tara Sutaria looks better than what we saw in Student of the Year 2 (2019). The duo has a coupe of great romantic scenes and Shroff nails them comfortably, so does Sutaria. Though the actress does not have much to do in the film, she plays her part well. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is terrif as Laila and puts his unparalleled versatility on display yet again.

LOWS: Tiger Shroff is one of the most sought-after action stars in Bollywood. Instead of juggling various genres, he sticks to what he is good at and that makes total sense. But as they say, excess of anything is harmful. The same can be said about the excess of the done-to-death action sequences in his film. While watching the film, you feel the actor landed on the sets of Heropanti 3 straight from the sets of Baaghi 3 (2022). Action looks good when it is intertwined into a well-written story, something which is missing here. The team seems to have worked more on creating a visual extravaganza than a film that touches your heart with its story.

The film has music by Oscar-winning music director A.R. Rahman with lyrics penned by Mehboob. Though the album has a few catchy songs, but you cannot remember them for long

FINAL VERDICT: If you are a Tiger Shroff fan, Heropanti 2 will not disappoint you. It has action, romance and several exotic locations. In case you are not his fan, you can watch something else. I am going with 3 stars.
